Mr. Poliafico, A nationally recognized leader in Emergency Medical Services System development, he directed the establishment of the EMS program in Delaware County, PA; was the first Chief of EMS in Chester, PA – one of the first paramedic programs in the Northeastern U.S. From 1977-80 Frank served as Director of EMS for New York City. Since 1980 created and conducted customized emergency care training programs throughout the U.S. and in over 24 countries, for "infrequent & usually reluctant" lay responders in numerous major corporations and government agencies on land, at sea, in the sky and on the rails.
He authored the textbook Emergency First Care (Brady/Prentice Hall) and has published numerous articles and papers on safety, health and emergency medical care. He also served as an advisor to the U.S. Surgeon General on medical care at sea and the publication the "Ships Medicine Chest.
From 2002-2008 Frank created and was Executive Director of the nonprofit AED Instructor Foundation. Since 2009, Frank helped to establish and manage the largest and most successful Sudden Cardiac Arrest Response/AED programs for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) nationwide air traffic control towers and offices.
